Title Consultant – Expert, Development of a Migration & Development Strategy
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is recruiting a consultant to provide support to the development of a Migration & Development Strategy. This strategy aims to consolidate IOM’s institutional approach to migration and development (M&D) and to support IOM field missions worldwide, government partners and UN counterparts.
Migration is now recognized as a core, cross-cutting development consideration in the Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development. The positive contribution that migration makes to development outcomes and achieving the SDGs has also been recognized, especially in the ongoing process to agree on a Global Compact for Migration (GCM).
Therefore, this document will be crucial in framing the institutional line on this issue. It will be strategically framed by the 2030 Agenda, the GCM and other global processes, as well as anchored with IOM frameworks and tools such as MiGOF and MCOF. It will also use the prism of transnationalism to bring new perspectives to the analysis of the M&D nexus.
An advanced university degree (master or equivalent) and a minimum of 8 years of professional experience in M&D are required. Candidates must be fluent in English. Working knowledge of French or Spanish is an advantage. More information on the opportunity and the application procedure can be accessed via this link.
