Platform for partnerships:

The Platform for Partnerships is a three-pronged tool for governments to (1) showcase existing practices (M&D Practices) (2) foster new projects and partnerships (M&D Calls for Action) and (3) foster communication and exchange (M&D Networking). It provides a mechanism, online and offline,  that allows  governments to share concrete experiences and practices and build partnerships within the framework of the  Global Forum on Migration and Development (GFMD), and specifically in relation to GFMD themes, debates and outcomes. GFMD Civil Society 

Since 2011, and upon the invitation by the GFMD Chairs Switzerland and Mauritius, civil society activities for the GFMD have been facilitated by the GFMD Civil Society Coordination Office, which functions under the auspices of the International Migration Commissions (ICMC). To keep informed about the Civil Society process that is taking place in the framework of the GFMD, please access the following website:

Human Mobility Programme

The Human Mobility Programme is a training programme initiated by UNITAR which focuses on local governance. Its role is to coordinate, develop, update and deliver capacity development activities through on-line and face to face instruction to government officials at national, regional and municipal levels.

The three main activities of this programme are the following: 1) Strengthening Local Governance 2)Facilitating Policy Dialogue 3) Building Knowledge Capacity
