The Migration Policy Centre (MPC) of the European University Institute (EUI) will hold an international conference on the politics of migration governance in Latin America and Europe. It will seek to analyze the state of governability of immigration in both regions by examining the variety and complexity of migration governance. A comparative perspective enables deeper insights about the dynamics of migration governance and its underlying politics.
The event will gather academics, experts and policy makers from both regions. It aims to foster a research agenda that goes beyond macro trends of migration policies focusing instead on bigger questions of migration politics, governance and governability; and to create a space of dialogue and exchange between these regions.
The conference is supported by the EU-LAC foundation and jointly organised by the Migration Policy Centre, the Regional Office of the IOM in South America, and the University of Lanus.
Paper Proposals (abstracts of max. 350 words) are to be submitted through this link until 31 May 2018 (12 am CET). For more information on criteria, please consult the call for papers.
