The iDiaspora platform will be launched officially on Monday 8 October, opening day of the International Dialogue on Migration (IDM). The launch will take place in Geneva (13:15 to 14:45). Satellite events will be hosted in The Hague and Cairo.

Today there are 61,000 refugees stuck in Greece. Due to economic crisis the country is one of the least prepared in Europe to deal with this influx of people. Currently housing, food, water and other services are paid for in large part by government organizations and NGOs. But very little money is invested in sustainable solutions to the problem like formal education and skills training.

IMISCOE is calling for papers, panels, and workshops for their 2018 conference in Barcelona from July 2-4, 2018, which will focus on “Europe, migrations and the Mediterranean: human mobilities and intercultural challenges”.
