This conference will examine the role of policy in determiningthe outcomes of immigration and the presence of immigrants in, as well astheir contribution to different societies. It will consider the intended societal outcomes, the most effective ways to achieve these outcomes, and the influences that government policy and political leadership can bring tobear against a background of historical tradition and societal norms.
