CAPACITY-BUILDING OF RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS AND PERSONNEL ON MIGRATION AND DEVELOPMENT (CARES-MD)
The Capacity-Building of Research Institutions and Personnel on Migration and Development (CARES-MD) in Region V is part of various initiatives under the Joint Migration and Development Imitative (JMDI).
CARES-MD focuses on strengthening the role and contribution of academic institutions in the regions in promoting a better understanding of migration and development, which in turn, would inform better policies and programs. Towards this end, CARES-MD aims to promote the following objectives:
- To build the capacity of academic institutions and research personnel in the regions, particularly those in the JMDI sites, to conduct migration-related research;
- To strengthen academic institutions as a key stakeholder in migration and development discussions and actions in the regions; and
- To encourage partnership between academic institutions and LGUs in research-based policy-making, developing programs, and monitoring and evaluation
CARES-MD is a joint undertaking of the Scalabrini Migration Center, the Migration and Development Network and the City Government of Naga, with the support of JMDI.
