This section contains a series of case studies that bring together good practices, lessons learnt and recommendations gathered from JMDI-supported projects to enhance migration management for local development.

As part of the JMDI’s efforts to support local and regional authorities in their key role in managing migration for development, the series aims to equip local and other actors with tools and ideas to tap into the local development potential of migration.

The case studies cover a range of six thematic areas: Mainstreaming Migration into Local Development Planning; Social Inclusion; Economic Inclusion; Political Inclusion; Partnerships for Effective Migration Management for Local Development and Engaging diasporas for Development.

The first case studies were launched in February 2017.
