Près de 600 représentants de 150 pays et 30 organisations internationales, dont l’ICMD, se sont réunis pour la 8ème édition du Forum Mondial sur la Migration et le Développement et la Réunion au Sommet à Istanbul, en Turquie. Le GFMD 2015 a marqué la septième participation et le soutien actif de l’ICMD à l’évènement, principalement avec l’organisation d’un évènement parallèle intitulé « Explorer le rôle clé des autorités locales dans la promotion de l’agenda international de la migration et du développement ».

Près de 600 représentants de 150 pays et 30 organisations internationales se sont réunis du 12 au 16 octobre 2015 à Istanbul pour la 8ème édition du Forum Mondial sur la Migration et le Développement (GFMD) et la Réunion au Sommet qui s’est tenue sous la Présidence de la Turquie.

On the occasion of the International Day for Disaster Reduction, the Philippine government stated that it has successfully fortified the “physical and psychosocial infrastructure of the country for disaster risk reduction and management. Presidential Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma said the Aquino administration has “inculcated a disaster resilience mind-set at the community level” to reduce the impact of catastrophes.

According to Soliman, it is necessary to remember that refugees are people, who are fleeing from situations with conflict, insecurity, bad governance and no future prospects, i.e. it is understandable that refugees are going to Europe. However, the situation needs to be managed, so the European societies can cope with the new situation.
