In the IGAD region (Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan and Uganda), joint UN programming addresses drivers of migration and facilitates safe, orderly and regular migration in the context of climate change and disasters.

Funded by the Migration Multi-Partner Trust Fund, this joint effort from ILO, IOM, UNHCR and UNOPS addresses data needs and mainstreams migration into national and regional disaster risk reduction and climate action strategies. The Trust Fund facilitates a One UN approach to programming, building synergies between each Agency’s experience and expertise and ensuring a multi-stakeholder, whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach.
