You are cordially invited to the second IPPN Knowledge Café\, a webin ar series focused on building the IPPN members’ capacity to better under stand a systems perspective on policy integration and acceleration\; and i ntegrated policy solutions\, including curation of tools and resources tha t support the design and implementation of cross-cutting policy solutions. This is a public event\, open to all\, don't hesitate to share widely amo ng your partners and networks!
\n\nJo in us for the second IPPN Knowledge Café to explore the work of the regional UN I ssue-based Coalition on Sustainable Food Systems (IBC-SFS)* to suppor t policy coherence in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)\, and the opportunities and challenges of interagency and multi-sectoral co llaborations in delivering integrated policy support to UN Country Teams. We will also review the follow up to the first-ever UN Food Systems Summit< /a> (September 2021)\, which provided a unique opportunity to engage Memb er States and stakeholders across multiple policy domains to galvanize ac tion and discuss integrated policy issues for food systems transformation in the region.

\n\n* The IBC-SFS is a regi onal UN platform established in April 2020\, advising UN Resident Coordina tors and UN Country Teams to facilitate a coordinated UN system response f or promotion and strengthening sustainable food systems in Europe and Cent ral Asia\, as key to accelerate the achievement of the SDGs and the 2030 A genda. Co-chaired by FAO\, UNICEF and WHO\, membership also includes IFAD\ , UNDP\, UNECE\, WFP and WMO.
\n\nMary Kenny is the Food Safety and Consumer Protection Officer\, Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia (ECA) at the Food and Agriculture Organ ization (FAO)\, and Delivery Manager for FAO’s regional programme of wor k on 'Transforming Food Systems' and facilitating market access and integr ation. Mary manages the regional programme of work on food safety\, respon ding to countries’ needs to develop policies and national food control s ystems\; to strengthen value chain operators capacity to ensure food safet y from farm to fork\; and to use and contribute to the development of Code x Alimentarius food standards.
\n\nPrior to joining F AO in 1995\, Mary worked in the UK and Ireland as an Environmental Health Officer with public health\, and regulatory compliance responsibilities\, and spent six months at the Food Safety Authority of Ireland. Mary’s edu cational background includes a Degree in Environmental Health Officer and a Masters in Food Science and Technology.
