Daniel SILVA Y POVEDA
Daniel is working as Policy Officer in the IOM Migration and Sustainable Development (MSD) Unit in IOM HQ, collaborating with thematic divisions, regional and country offices to build capacities across the organization to integrate migration in the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of IOM's contribution to the 2030 Agenda; and engages with UN agencies and processes to foster strong partnerships across the UN Development System for integrated policy approaches to migration, displacement and sustainable development.
Daniel has 11 years of experience working on migration governance in the field and in headquarters based position. Daniel has served with IOM in Angola (2011 - 2014) and in Madagascar (2015 - 2021), where he was the Chief of Mission, spearheading IOM operations in Madagascar and the Union of Comoros. Daniel has been working with the MSD Unit since September 2021. He holds a Master Degree in Political Science and International Relations.
