The first Peer Exchange Group (PEG) meeting of the Joint IOM-UNDP Global Programme on Making Migration Work for Sustainable Development (M4SD) was convened in November. PEGs allow Programme stakeholders to exchange knowledge and good practices on a core migration and sustainable development topic. This PEG on Diaspora Engagement was co-led by the Republic of Moldova, and focused on lessons learned for online diaspora engagement. The exchange garnered remarkable interest, drawing 132 participants from all 11 Programme countries and 7 others.

Two diaspora platforms were presented: the Republic of Moldova's Emoldovata platform (national) and Senegal's regional Help Office for Migrants platform in Sédhiou (sub-national). Representatives from Jamaica also received peer feedback and technical guidance on their proposed online diaspora engagement platform. The exchange is part of the Programme's ongoing capacity development and knowledge exchange activities, which support government officials and other stakeholders in linking migration and sustainable development in their work.
