From September 18-19th, UN New York will be hosting the 2023 SDG Summit. The Summit marks the halfway point to the deadline for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It will be a dedicated time to respond to the complex challenges facing the world and start a new period of accelerated progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals leading up to 2030. Stakeholders are hopeful that this dialogue will inspire new enthusiasm for the 2030 Agenda and that participating groups will come away with renewed optimism and ideas in order to 'rescue' the SDGs. The outcome of the Summit will be a negotiated political declaration.

"The SDG Summit in September must be a moment of unity to provide a renewed impetus and accelerated actions for reaching the SDGs."

-António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General

Multiple countries from the M4SD Programme are participating in the SDG Summit. During our GPB, we drafted an advocacy document of key messages that we hope countries will use during this and other global fora.

The live webcast of the SDG Summit will be available here.
