Summary

The campaign is part of the SDGs and Migration project, which is a 3-year cross-sectoral project run by 7 partners from across Europe (from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Italy and Greece). Its aim is to promote the ambitious implementation of the world’s crisis plan – the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) – by and in the EU. The project looks at migration through the perspective of the SDGs by informing and raising the awareness of decision-makers, journalists and the public across Europe.

Key objective

The objective of the Faces of Migration campaign is to change public dialogue and policies from “us vs them” to the human beings affected by inequalities that are structural and pervasive and how the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an answer to create a better world for all.

Main activities

The Campaign:

  • engages in awareness-raising through social media and multimedia campaigns;
  • publishes policy papers on migration and sustainable development to inform journalists, decision-makers, and the general public; and
  • issues open letters calling for the inclusion and protection of migrants as vital to achieving the SDGs.

Beneficiaries

Policymakers, journalists, host communities primarily in the EU
