Daniel SILVA Y POVEDA
Daniel works as a Policy Officer in the Migration and Sustainable Development (MSD) unit at IOM Headquarters, collaborating with thematic divisions, regional offices and country offices to build capacity across the organization to integrate migration into the planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of IOM's contribution to the 2030 Agenda ; and engages with UN agencies and processes to foster strong partnerships across the UN development system for integrated policy approaches to migration, displacement and sustainable development.
Daniel has 11 years of experience in migration governance in the Field and at Headquarters. Daniel worked for IOM in Angola (2011 - 2014) and Madagascar (2015 - 2021), where he served as Chief of Mission, leading IOM's operations in Madagascar and the Union of Comoros. Daniel has been working with the MSD unit since September 2021. He holds a Master's degree in Political Science and International Relations.
