Kristin Eitel
Kristin provides dedicated support for the Migration and Sustainable Development Unit’s engagement with the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration and the UN Network on Migration. Specifically, Kristin serves as Coordinator for two Core Working Groups of the Network charged with providing the UN system, governments, and stakeholders dedicated support, technical assistance, and capacity building for GCM implementation, follow up, and review. She also contributes to related IOM capacity building initiatives.
Kristin’s background is in community engagement, having spent many years working in educational and not-for-profit organizations in the United States and Europe. Her experience includes fundraising, communications, volunteer and board management, private sector philanthropic engagement, teaching, project management, administration, and research. Prior to joining IOM, Kristin worked in the Migration team of a European-based think tank. Kristin holds a Masters degree in International Development from the Instituto Barcelona de Estudios Internacionales and a Bachelor's degree in Communication from George Mason University. Kristin speaks English and Spanish.
