Main areas of work

Nawel Aouissi-Padioleau supports IOM’s Migration and Sustainable Development team as a Knowledge Exchange and Capacity Development Consultant within the Global IOM-UNDP Making Migration Work for Sustainable Development Programme funded by SDC and led by IOM HQ. Nawel works on the Programme’s activities related to knowledge exchange among the eleven countries and its efforts to build capacities of its local and national government partners and other stakeholders to harness the development potential of migration. 

Previous experience

Nawel holds a Masters Degree in International Development and Humanitarian Affairs (Laval University - Canada) and a Masters Degree in International Management (Normandy Business School - France). She has diverse working experiences with UN agencies (Joint Migration and Development Initiative in Belgium and UNHCR in Ecuador) and in NGOs (TECHO Para mi Pais in Paraguay and Saint Benoit Labre in France). Prior to joining IOM, Nawel worked as a Project Officer at Expertise France, the French public agency for the design and implementation of international technical cooperation projects and for Wavestone as Senior Consultant for public sector organisations. Her experience includes project management, knowledge exchange and capacity development. She is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
