Cities’ solutions are states’ successes: leading from the local on SDGs

Cities are leading the way in making the world more inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable by drawing on their innovations, flexibility and resolve. This event brings active and engaged mayors representing different world regions together with key UN principals, Permanent Representatives from UN Member States, heads of major foundations and inter-city networks, and preeminent thinkers on sustainable development for a high-level discussion on the role of cities in meeting and galvanizing action towards the Sustainable Development Goals.

This event is sponsored by the Mayors Migration Council (MMC). Launched in December 2018 in partnership with the Open Society Foundations, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and C40 Cities, the MMC aims to ensure cities can and do engage in international fora and are full partners in the implementation of global agreements.
