Launch: Package of Resources for Mainstreaming Migration into International Cooperation and Development

Image

Mainstreaming migration can make development cooperation more coherent and effective. The MMICD package of resources was created for the EU and other donors to give them a solid foundation of why mainstreaming migration is important, what it entails, and how it can be achieved. The tools can be drawn on to help international cooperation and development actors apply mainstreaming approaches to their own work.

The following resources will be launched during the event:

  • Guidelines for Integrating Migration into International Cooperation and Development;
  • Toolkits to provide operational tools that can be applied when designing, implementing and/or evaluating interventions in various sectors such as health, education, and environment and climate change, based on the technical insights from IOM and UN partners, and;
  • Blended e-learning course to help apply these approaches into practice.

The launch event will bring together high-level representatives from the IOM and the EU, including Ugochi Daniels, Deputy Director General for Operations, IOM and Martin Seychell, Deputy Director General, DG INTPA, and colleagues from around the world. Through their interventions, participants will gain an understanding of the ways that these materials can be applied and the reasons for doing so.

This event will be recorded. By registering for this event, you agree to allow IOM to publish the recording online and to use it for the promotion of its activities, for capacity building and mutual learning purposes.
