Make a Pledge for GCM Implementation and Stronger Communities
In May 2022, governments, stakeholders and the UN system will have a unique opportunity through the first International Migration Review Forum (IMRF) to set an unprecedented level of ambition in global migration governance for the years to come. We encourage all partners to make concrete commitments that will positively impact the lives of migrants and their communities.
To that end, the UN Network for Migration has launched the GCM pledging initiative, calling on all states, stakeholders and the UN system to make tangible commitments towards our shared migration goals, within the framework of the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration.
A guidance note on the Pledging Initiative can be found here (FR, ES).
Additionally, in this shared endeavour, anyone can (self) record a short video (20-60 seconds) and post it on Twitter, using the campaign hashtag #Migration2022 and tagging the Network’s Twitter account @UNMigNetwork.
So far, the Principals of the Network’s Executive Committee, as well as the President of the United Nations General Assembly, have already recorded a short video to ask governments to make a pledge. Watch their pledges here.
Today, you can join them and help us make a change in the lives of migrants and their communities.
